About this artwork

An expressive oil painting featuring multiple figures gathered outdoors around a circular stone well under a dramatic sky. On the right, a figure in vibrant pink and blue robes sits elevated, gesturing with an outstretched arm toward the horizon. In the center, a woman in a white dress and draped yellow-gold shawl turns away from the well, stepping forward barefoot. Other figures stand in the background landscape wearing draped garments in earthy tones of green, purple, and gold. Large clay jars rest near the base of the well structure, and the overall lighting creates a high-contrast theatrical mood with deep shadows and soft highlights across the landscape and draped fabrics.
